Why?

The answer to this question is probably different for each of us and may very well change across the coming months.

Here are some of the possible answers…..

Spend quality time together

• Before our children grow up and move on (which will happen sooner than we expect or want)

It is the optimal time

• Our children are old enough to benefit from the experience, yet not too old to be pried away from school, friends, sports and social activities
• John’s employer, RTI International, was incredibly supportive
• Everything else, including finding the perfect family to rent our house, all seemed to fall into place

Experience other cultures

• Global Citizenship is truly becoming more important by the day
• We want to learn more about other cultures and our role in the wider world
