HI Sukhomvit Hostel, Bangkok, Thailand

This was our home base in Bangkok where we stayed on a total of four different occasions. It was great as has been our pattern to start with a hostel on our first night in a country and then return to it before we leave. Familiar faces, known accommodations and surroundings that we look forward to exploring a second time. HI Sukhomvit was probably not the best or the nicest hostel option, but its location just a few blocks away from the Skytram and the Soi 38 street market where we had quite a few good and cheap (i.e. $2 USD) meals as well as the extremely delicious dessert of sticky rice with fresh mango and coconut milk made it perfect for us. The walk up the four flights of concrete stairs with the crazy slightly taller step at the top of each flight to trip us up with our packs was an annoyance the first time, but the roof top laundry and drying lines accompanied by the sweetest woman who took a liking to the kids were a bonus.
WGGSH (Would GG Stay Here?) - probably not with the shared baths and slightly cramped rooms, although everything was very clean.
WWSHA (Would We Stay Here Again?) - yes, as we obviously did.
